CSB DEEP CYCLE BATTERIES is specially designed for high efficient discharge application. Its characteristics are high energy density, small footprint and high discharge efficiency. It can be used for more than 260 cycles at 100% discharge in cycle service, up to 10 years in standby service.
The Batteries can be stored for more than 6 months at 25ºC. Please charge batteries before using them the first time. For higher temperatures the time interval of the battery will be shorter.
The batteries are designed to provide a steady amount of current over a long period of time. A deep cycle battery can provide a surge when needed, but nothing like the surge a car battery can. Deep cycle battery is also designed to be deeply discharged over and over again (something that would ruin a car battery very quickly). To accomplish this, a deep cycle battery uses thicker plates.
Definition Before we can address the deep cycle battery, we need to know exactly what we are talking about. A battery is anything which stores energy for use at a later stage. When we talk about deep cycle batteries we can narrow this definition considerably. The energy stored in a deep cycle battery is electrical in nature therefore we can discount batteries that store heat, radiation or any other form of energy we can think of.
The batteries use solid lead plates rather than sponge plates. They are designed to discharge up to 80% of their stored energy before recharging. Starter and marine batteries would fail quickly if they are exposed to this level of discharge consistently.
